COMPREHENSIVE GERIATRIC EVALUATION (CGE)

What Your Comprehensive Geriatric Evaluation Covers

The Comprehensive Geriatric Evaluation brings the important parts of your loved one’s health together in one structured review led by a doctor.

Guided by geriatric-care education from the British Geriatrics Society (BGS), Sibex’s coordinating doctors look at more than just one illness or complaint. They review areas such as frailty, memory, mood, risk of falling, movement, muscle strength, medications, and the ability to manage everyday activities independently.

This gives families a clearer picture of their loved one’s overall health, helps anticipate changing needs, identify possible risks early, and provides practical recommendations for the next steps in care.

Because when you can’t be there, distance shouldn’t mean uncertainty.

BGS-INFORMED STANDARDS. A MORE COMPLETE APPROACH TO SENIOR CARE.

Informed by British Geriatrics Society (BGS) geriatric-care education, Sibex’s coordinating doctors are trained to use structured protocols comparable to practices in the UK and other developed societies that consider the interconnected realities of ageing.

What We Assess During Your Loved One’s Comprehensive Geriatric Evaluation

Important routine tests

  • Full blood count, kidney function test, blood glucose, urinalysis, lipid profile (cholesterol), abdominal ultrasound scan, and electrocardiogram (if required).

Frailty & Function

Strength, Mobility & Everyday Independence

We assess strength, balance, mobility, muscle loss, and the ability to manage daily activities safely and independently.                                      By measuring their Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) and evaluating their Activities of Daily Living (ADL), we can identify early signs of frailty and functional decline before they significantly affect quality of life.

Cognition & Wellbeing

Memory, Mood & Mental Wellbeing

We assess memory, attention, mood, and behavioural changes to identify possible early concerns involving cognitive decline, dementia, or depression that may require further assessment.

Prevention & Safety

Falls, Safety & Maintaining Independence

We assess balance, walking safety, and other risks that may lead to falls or injury—helping protect your loved one’s safety, confidence, and independence.

Physical Examination

Heart, Lungs & Overall Physical Health

We examine key body systems and perform essential checks—including blood pressure, pulse, breathing, temperature, and oxygen levels—to identify concerns that may require further investigation or referral to a specialist. We also look out for common emergencies like Acute Stroke.

Medication Review & Optimization

Safer, More Effective Medication Use

We review your loved one’s medicines, including prescribed drugs, over-the-counter products, and supplements, to identify possible side effects, interactions, duplication, or medicines that may no longer be appropriate. Where necessary, we recommend adjustments or follow-up with the appropriate doctor to support safer and more effective treatment.
